Craig Williams is a public relations professional who specializes in public education.

He has led the strategic communications and public relations efforts for two of the largest public school systems in the state of Alabama.

Williams’ most notable accomplishments include the successful passage of a $25 million ad valorem tax renewal with nearly 90 percent voting in support of the measure, generating a combined $25 million in revenue-generating opportunities by selling and leasing unused spectrum, and working on the launch of a summer learning program.

He has received multiple awards from the Alabama School Public Relations Association for efforts he has led on various campaigns and special projects. Williams was named ALSPRA’s Vice President of Communications in 2020.

Williams has worked to implement and execute strategic plans for various school districts, supported superintendents in combating opportunity gaps, worked on various development and fundraising efforts, and presented to professional organizations.

He has served in various roles within public relations departments in both K-12 and higher education settings as a communications officer, strategy and communications coordinator, communication specialist, and webmaster. His areas of expertise include strategic communications, media relations, project management, crisis communications, digital and social media, speechwriting, and special events.

Williams earned his B.A. from The University of Alabama where he studied public relations and political science. He earned his M.S. in strategic communications from Troy University. He attained certification in project management from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
